About Me

I am a clinical social worker, practicing the art of psychotherapy for over 40 years.

I earned a Ph.D. in clinical social work at New York University, where I also taught graduate students for many years.

I have lectured, taught, and published in the area of trauma, dissociation, and normal adult development. I also have written for Scientific American, The Huffington Post, and Medium.com.

I am fully certified in the used of EMDR, a technique for assisting individuals to resolve stuck places within themselves. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and is a method of psychotherapy that has been extensively researched and proven effective in the treatment of posttraumatic and related difficulties.
